About HeNAA



The Hellenic National Audiovisual Archive (HeNAA) was founded in 2006 legal entity of private law with a non-profitable character, under the decree N.3444/ΦΕΚ 46 A, 02.03.2006. Since 05.11.2009, HeNAA has been operating under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism (Modern Culture General Directorate- Π.Δ. 189/ ΦΕΚ 221 Α, 05.11.2009). 

The Archive’s mission is the preservation of audiovisual and primary digital material, with the goal of offering the Greek community and all interested parties access to our nation’s evolving and developing audiovisual heritage. 

The Archive’s overarching goal is the collection, recording, storage, conservation, management, preservation, treatment, provision of access and the utilization of audiovisual and primary digital material, with informational/newsworthy, historic/political and general socio-cultural content regarding Greece and Hellenism. In our efforts to achieve our goals, we always remain within existing guidelines for the protection of intellectual property.
